Your First Day/Week

Day 1

• Show around office (Usually HR)
• Setup work accounts, following the New Starter document provided by the Desktop Support team (Outlook, Jira, Gitlab, Slack, etc.)
• Join/Get invited to relevant work channels in Slack:
  • Team channel (ask your manager)
  • Office channel
  • Tech department channel(#technology, ask your manager for an invite)
  • Developers channel (#developers, ask your manager for an invite)
  • Chapter Channel (#chapter-native-apps)
• Confirm your VPN works correctly, if not ask for help in #desktopsupport channel. You will need this to be able to work on the codebase remotely.
• Laptop setup & codebase setup - start reading through the project documentation.

Day 2 / 3

• Continue codebase setup
• Create Production & UAT (dev testing) accounts in the native apps (via signup form in app)
• Review the General Guides section in the Wiki Sidebar
• Review the Contributing guide
• Get familiar with our past Decisions
• Code Familiarisation RN Project Structure

Day 4 +

• Jira board walk through
• Choose a task and sink your teeth in. Do not be afraid to ask question in our #chapter-native-apps slack channel
• Read the Your First Difficult Task wiki page
